IRS Clarifies Tax Relief for Taxpayers Impacted by Severe Weather in Texas

After some inquiries by the practitioner community, the IRS has recently updated the Hurricane Beryl disaster tax relief to indicate that affected taxpayers who received the Severe Storm postponement to Nov. 1, 2024, also receive the postponement until Feb. 3, 2025.
Note that the latest notice is only applicable for taxpayers impacted by Hurricane Beryl.
In summary,
- If you are on the 11/1/24 list, your due date is 11/1/24 for all items due between 4/26/24 and 11/1/24.
- If you are on the 2/3/25 list, your due date is 2/3/25 for all items due between 7/5/24 and 2/3/25.
- If you show up on BOTH lists, your due date is 2/3/25 for all items due between 4/26/24 and 2/3/25.
Also, the IRS has added more counties to the disaster declaration.

Is this saying the North Texas counties with the November 1, 2024 deadlines due to the Sanger tornadoes and the subsequent windstorms now have a February 3, 2025 deadline?
